Coasted Code has launched the institutional edition of Coasted Code Games, its platform of interactive quizzes and coding games, built for school ICT labs. Schools receive a license key that activates the games across every computer in their lab, and Coasted Code is offering participating schools a free trial for up to one full academic semester.
With one key, a school can bring hands-on coding and maths practice to all of its learners, manage every workstation from a single dashboard, and see how each student is progressing, at no cost for the first semester.
Turning ICT lab time into active learning
In many schools, ICT lab time is limited and learners spend much of it watching rather than doing. Coasted Code Games changes that. Every learner sits at their own workstation, signs in, and works through quizzes and coding challenges at their own pace, earning points and building daily learning streaks as they go.
For ICT teachers, the platform takes the heavy lifting out of running a lab lesson. Teachers can set quizzes, follow each learner's progress, and spot who needs extra help, all without marking a single paper.
"Every child who sits in front of a computer in a school lab should leave knowing how to make it do something," said the Coasted Code team. "Coasted Code Games turns lab time into learning time. Learners play, practise and build real coding skills, and teachers finally get a clear picture of how every student is doing. Offering a free semester means no school has to choose between its budget and its learners' future."
What schools get
Every school that activates a license receives:
Full access to Coasted Code Games: number games, coding games, maths challenges and mixed-topic quizzes for every learner in the lab.
Curriculum-friendly content: quizzes and coding challenges that support what learners are already studying in ICT and maths.
An admin dashboard: one place to manage quizzes, learners and lab workstations.
Student progress tracking: a clear view of each learner's activity, scores and streaks.
School quiz competitions: a way to rally learners around friendly competition and celebrate top performers.
ICT lab setup support: help from the Coasted Code team to get the platform running on the school's computers.
One license key for the whole lab
Getting started is simple. Once a school enrolls, Coasted Code issues it a unique school code and license key. The school's administrator uses them to sign in to the Coasted Code Institution Portal, where they can activate the desktop workstations in the ICT lab and assign license seats to learners.
From the portal, administrators can manage every PC workstation in the lab, track student logins, and view the results of school quiz competitions. Workstations stay synced, so every learner's progress is saved and visible to their teachers.
Free for up to one academic semester
To help schools experience the platform with their own learners, Coasted Code is offering a free trial for up to one full academic semester. During the trial, schools get the complete institutional package, including full game access, the admin dashboard, progress tracking and lab setup support.
Slots for the free semester are limited and will be allocated as schools enroll.
How to enroll your school
Headteachers, ICT coordinators and school administrators can enroll their school at games.coastedcode.com or by emailing the Coasted Code team at [email protected]. The team will set up the school's license key and help get its ICT lab running.
