1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Coasted Code Academy website (coastedcode.com), enrolling in any programme, or engaging with our services, you (the User, Parent, or Guardian) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please do not use our services. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use our platform.

1.1 Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and the current document version. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

We will notify registered users of any material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect, giving you time to review and, if necessary, cancel your enrolment.

Key Points at a Glance

Here are the most important things to know before reading the full terms. This summary does not replace the full Terms below.

For Parents & Guardians

All accounts must be created by a parent or guardian (18+). You are responsible for your child's activity on the platform.

Payments

Fees are in Ghana Cedis. Full payment is required before classes begin. Subscriptions auto-renew with 14-day advance notice.

Refunds

Full refund within 48 hours (no classes attended). 50% refund before the term midpoint. No refund after midpoint.

Your Privacy

We never sell personal data. Student data is only visible to enrolled instructors and the parent/guardian on the account.

Your Content

Students own their original projects. We may showcase anonymised work for promotional purposes unless you opt out.

Disputes

All disputes are governed by Ghanaian law. We first attempt resolution through mediation before any court proceedings.

2. Our Services

Coasted Code Academy provides technology-focused education for children aged 6–17 in Ghana and beyond. Our offerings include:

  • Live online and in-person coding classes (beginner to advanced)
  • AI, robotics, and STEM programmes
  • Project-based learning and portfolio building
  • School partnership programmes across Ghana
  • A student learning portal with assignments, quizzes, and progress tracking
  • Guardian dashboards for monitoring student activity and screen time

2.1 Platform Availability

We endeavour to maintain platform availability 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability.

We reserve the right to add, modify, or discontinue any service at our discretion. Where a material service change affects an active enrolment, we will provide at least 14 days' notice.

3. Eligibility & Parental Consent

Our programmes are designed for children aged 6 to 17 years. Because our primary users are minors, the following requirements apply:

Parental / Guardian Registration

All accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older. Children may not register independently.

Consent to Participation

Enrolling a child constitutes explicit consent for the child to participate in all associated activities, including live video sessions.

Accurate Information

Parents are responsible for providing accurate, current information. Misrepresentation may result in immediate account termination without refund.

Supervision

We recommend that parents periodically review their child's activity on the platform and remain accessible during live classes.

If a student turns 18 while enrolled, the account may be transitioned to an adult account upon written request to info@coastedcode.com.

4. Enrolment & Payments

Enrolment is subject to availability and the following payment conditions:

4.1 Fees & Currency

All fees are quoted in Ghana Cedis (GHS) unless otherwise stated. The fee applicable at the time of enrolment will be honoured for the enrolled term. We reserve the right to revise fees for future terms with at least 30 days' notice.

4.2 Payment Methods

We accept payments via Paystack (card, Mobile Money, bank transfer). Payment must be received in full before access to classes is granted. All transactions are conducted in GHS.

4.3 Subscription Renewals

Recurring subscriptions will auto-renew unless cancelled at least 7 days before the renewal date. Email reminders are sent 14 days and 3 days before each renewal. You can cancel at any time via your account settings or by contacting us.

4.4 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will notify you by email. You will have 5 business days to settle the outstanding amount before access to the student portal is suspended. We will not charge late fees.

4.5 Receipts & Invoices

Payment receipts are automatically issued via email upon each successful transaction. For formal invoices, please contact info@coastedcode.com.

We do not store card details. All payment processing is handled securely by Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor operating under applicable Ghanaian financial regulations.

Treat instructors, fellow students, and staff with dignity. Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or hateful language — in class, on our platform, or any communication — will not be tolerated.

Submitting work that is not your own, sharing quiz answers, or circumventing assessments constitutes academic dishonesty and may result in removal from the programme.

Punctuality & Attendance

Device & Internet Readiness

Families are responsible for ensuring their child has a working device and stable internet connection for online classes. We are not liable for missed content due to technical issues on the student's end.

Violations may result in a written warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal without refund, at the sole discretion of Coasted Code Academy. Parents will always be informed of disciplinary actions.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Coasted Code Academy platform — course materials, videos, lesson notes, quizzes, code examples, graphics, logos, and branding — is the exclusive intellectual property of Coasted Code Academy or its licensed content providers and is protected under Ghanaian and international copyright law.
